Created after the granite gods series, shifters are Alan’s postmodern take on celestial beings. Inspired by the biblical notion of “entertaining angels unawares – from Hebrews 13:2”, he represents these beings as shape-shifters and black eyed beings of various solid colors. This is how he imagines them in their true form in a large work of fiction that he has written - eight-foot tall, humanoid and winged without nipples, navels, toenails and fingernails. In the series he concentrates on black-eyed faces and hints of feathered wing.
